Billy Ray Cyrus' son Trace has issued an emotional plea just days after his "trainwreck" performance at Donald Trump's second inauguration. The country singer's performance didn't go as smooth sailing as he might have hoped as it was plagued by technical difficulties. As he tried to mark Trump's return to the White House, he ended up performing song Old Town Road without proper equipment. Struggling with the issues, he tried singing a cappella but was overheard asking the crew if his guitar was working.
Frustrated by the ongoing problems, he told the audience: "Y'all want me to sing more or you just want me to get the hell off the stage? I don't give a damn." Viewers branded the performance a "trainwreck" and "embarrassing". However, Billy hit back and said he "wouldn’t have missed the honor" of playing for Trump.
His son Trace has since claimed he "barely recognises" his famous dad and shared a photo of him joining Billy on stage when he was younger. Trace is the son of Billy's ex wife Tish Cyrus and Bexter Neal Helson. When he was four-years-old, Billy adopted him. In his desperate plea, Trace wrote: "Since my earliest memories all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever.
"I wanted to be just like you. The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life. Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now. It seems this world has beaten you down and it's become obvious to everyone but you. You may be upset with me for posting this but I really could care less at this point.
