Dortmund is looking an increasingly unlikely destination for wantaway Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford this winter. Mail Sport reported earlier this month that England star's representatives have held discussions with several clubs over a move this month after he was dropped by Ruben Amorim following his admission that he was 'ready for a new challenge' away from Old Trafford.
Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund were one of the clubs in talks with the player's team but his his £350,000-per-week wages have all but ruled the German side out of the running for his signature, even on a short-term basis. The side had been leading contenders to land the forward after they made a concerted effort to convince him, with Sebastian Kehl and Sven Mislintat believing he could have same impact as Jadon Sancho last season.
United wanted a deal structured same way with loan fee and performance related bonuses. The situation at Dortmund is further complicated by the sacking of head coach Nuri Sahin following the side's defeat by Bologna in the Champions League on Tuesday night - their fourth loss in a row.
Marcus Rashford's representatives have held talks with several clubs over a January move. Borussia Dortmund have effectively been priced out of a deal for Rashford in this window. His representatives held further talks with Barcelona sporting director Deco earlier this week.
