Breaking Bad and Gentleman Jack actors star in Channel 4's new crime drama Patience

The line-up for Channel 4's new crime drama Patience boasts a Breaking Bad villain and a popular star from Gentleman Jack. The series introduces us to the character of Patience Evans (Ella Maisy Purvis), an autistic woman who holds a clerical position in the police records department.
Detective Bea Metcalf (Laura Fraser) spots her potential and talent, recruiting her into a new role to assist in probing serious crimes. This six-part Channel 4 drama is touted as offering a "unique and authentic perspective on neurodiversity", with all neurodivergent characters portrayed by neurodiverse actors.
Yorkshire Live reports the series was filmed across York and Belgium and its first episode is set to air at 9pm on Wednesday, January 8 on Channel 4. But who stars in Patience?. Ella Maisy Purvis as Patience Evans. . Patience Evans is a young autistic woman and self-educated criminologist working in the criminal records division of City of York Police. Patience is hyperlexic, which means she possesses an extraordinary visual and auditory memory and can absorb information rapidly; as she files cases in Criminal Records, she memorises them and is quick to identify patterns in the data that others might overlook.
Purvis has previously graced the screen in Malpractice, Heartstopper and A Kind of Spark on CBBC. Laura Fraser as Detective Bea Metcalf. Beatrice is a Detective Inspector with the City of York Police, boasting the highest case resolution rate in the county. She welcomes Patience into her team and as their professional and personal bond strengthens, Beatrice finds herself re-evaluating everything from her policing methods to addressing the unique needs of her son Alfie.
