Former Bros member Matt Goss has revealed that he is "completely estranged" from his twin brother Luke Goss. The former bandmates rose to fame in the band in the pop group in the 1980s and much like Oasis stars Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher- who recently put their feud behind them to reunite the Britpop group after a 16-year absence – Matt and Luke, both 56, have endured a rocky relationship. Matt doesn't wish to discuss their estrangement at length, and while he would love to still be in the When Will I Be Famous? group with his sibling, said he must protect his mental health, as reported by Bang Showbiz..
In a candid interview, he told the Guardian newspaper: "I don't want to go into detail, but I also don't want to lie any more. We are completely estranged." He said that when someone does their "best" that is "enough," adding that he has done his "best".
Matt said that he wants to be on stage with Luke and tour again with the band. He added that also wants to have a pint with his brother and meet each other's partners. He however said: "But I'm not going to make myself unwell.". Asked for the reason behind the apparent tension, he said that it's a "tough one". Matt said he didn't want to say "too much, out of respect" for his sibling. He did say in the interview that that their relationship was not "kumbaya" though.
Matt suggested it's for the best that they are apart and said he doesn't want to "put" himself "in harm's way," before stressing the importance of surrounding himself with people who love "really love" him. He said people have a "finite amount of time" on the planet and he wants to be around people who "really love him" and whom he "really loves" back. Matt asserted that he does love Luke though and added that he has a tattoo that reads "never waste good agony". He said he had two choices, to either let it "control you" or "you control it".
