A Channel Seven presenter has revealed the full extent of his injuries after he was involved in a horror crash on Wednesday. 7News Adelaide star Mark 'Soda' Soderstrom, 54, was participating in South Australia's Santos Tour Down Under when he fell off his bicycle and injured himself.

The sports presenter broke his hand and grazed his face in the fall, and later shared photos with viewers which captured the extent of his painful looking injuries. One photo showed him with huge bruise marks across his face and another revealed his arm was broken and in a cast.

Fortunately, Soderstrom still managed to present the 6pm news and reassured viewers he was on the mend. He later revealed the set of events leading to the incident to The Advertiser. 'I had a little incident with the traffic island going pretty low speed at the start. It was just a little small island in the city and I went straight over the handlebars,' he began. 'Ended up breaking my hand and I've taken a bit of bark off my face. The only saving grace was my chompers didn’t get smashed.'.

Miraculously, Soderstrom managed to successfully complete the bike race in spite of his injuries. 'I decided I would just jump back on my bike and finish the ride and I got it checked out afterwards... it ended up being a broken hand.'. Soda has had a long media career in Adelaide in both TV and radio.
