Chris Martin has spoken out about his daughter Apple's debutante ball, after she was called out for her 'mean girl' behaviour. The 20-year-old daughter of Coldplay frontman Martin and A Lister Gwyneth Paltrow, Apple took her parents to the Le Bal Des Debutantes at Paris' $1000 a night Shangri-La in November. She attended the annual gathering, which sees young women from some of the the world's richest families make their debut into society.

Goop founder Gwyneth, 52, is now married to TV producer Brad Falchuk, and she attended the ball alongside her ex Chris Martin. Apple wore a sky blue Valentino gown as she joined her date Count Leo Henckel von Donnersmarck before having a dance with her parents.

Things took a turn when a video surfaced showing her shocking behaviour towards another debutante while she was having her photo taken. As the other young woman posed for a photo, Apple barged into the frame from behind, striking a pose and pouting for several shots. When she finished her turn, she moved aside, nearly cutting off another debutante posing for a photo.

Chris Martin has admitted to Rolling Stone that he never saw himself going to an event like a debutante ball. Speaking before the nepo-baby event, he said: "[It is] so not something I ever thought I'd do, but because I'm so in love with her, I'm like, 'OK'.".

But the family's sweet moment was tainted when the cringe-worthy footage, shared by French outlet Paris Match, sparked outrage on social media, with fans branding Apple "obnoxious". One viewer wrote: "How obnoxious and entitled she is," while another added: "Oh wow, why did Apple do that? Let the other girl have a moment." A third person commented," "Not good behaviour for such an event." Someone else said her actions were "giving Regina George," referring to the Mean Girls character.
