Claudia Winkleman has revealed whether she would prefer to be a faithful or not and why she thinks she would 'mess up' The Traitors. The BBC series, which pulled in 5.4m viewers with its first episode, follows a group of 'faithfuls' trying to suss out the 'traitors' among them, who 'murder' contestants at night in a bid to claim the £120,000 cash prize for themselves.
At the start of every series, the host, 52, picks three players to be traitors, which is based on her interview with them when they arrive at the Scottish castle. In an interview with Radio Times, the mother-of-two gave insight into how she thinks she'd fare as a player.
Claudia admitted: 'I think I’d prefer to be a Faithful, but I genuinely have no idea if someone is lying to me.'. She then joked: 'My 18-year-old told me she’d done all her homework for years.'. Expressing admiration for the traitors, Claudia said her strategy would be to 'say nothing'.

Elsewhere in the interview, Claudia revealed that she makes the decision as to who should be a traitor with the producers and wider casting team.
Although she didn't delve much into their process, the star confirmed they would never pick anyone who has asked to remain a faithful. Claudia also opened up about the epic banishment twist that is set to rock the final players. In a break from previous seasons, any players who are banished in the last episode will no longer reveal whether they are a traitor or a faithful.
