Darren Till dominated Anthony Taylor to make a winning start to his Misfits boxing career. Till was fighting for the first time in two years having left the UFC following a title-challenging career with the world's premier MMA organisation. Till had been due to face Tommy Fury in Manchester but the brother of former heavyweight world champion Tyson pulled out when Till threatened to kick him in the head.
Instead Till took on Misfits stalwart Taylor who was stepping up from light-heavyweight. And the replacement opponent had little answer to Till's constant pressure as the Liverpudlian cruised through the first three rounds. Till began to find success with his uppercut and dropped Taylor in the fifth session.
Taylor beat the count and attempted to turn the tide in the fifth round, drawing blood from Till as he landed a series of overhand rights. But Till dropped the American with another uppercut in the sixth and the fight was over shortly afterwards when Taylor hit the canvas again. Here are the rest of the results from Misfits 20...
Commentator Wade Plemons swapped his mic for a pair of gloves and impressed on his Misfits debut against Masai Warrior. Plemons landed right hand after right hand with Warrior doing well to soak up the pressure. Plemons began to tire over the second half of the fight as Warrior threatened a comeback - but it was too little too late as Plemons was given the nod by the judges.
Ty Mitchell has promised to win a world title within two years... let's see. He at least began his Misfits career by seeing off the challenge of former underground brawler Tommy Hench. Mitchell, who in 2012 was sentenced to seven years in prison for killing a student with a single punch on a night out, was by far the stronger from the first bell and almost finished the fight in the first round. But Hench made it to the third round before Mitchell almost send him out of the ring. And Mitchell finished the job seconds later when he dropped and stopped his opponent.
