David Moyes would love another crack at Wembley with Everton to get the silverware he never got in his first stint at the club. The Toffees take on Bournemouth today looking for a spot in the FA Cup fifth round. Moyes is back at the club and is steering the Blues away from relegation trouble after three wins on the trot in the Premier League. But now the focus turns to the Cup. Everton reached the final in 2009 but lost to Chelsea and then were beaten by Liverpool in the 2012 semi-final. Moyes turned Everton from relegation battling to Champions League qualifiers during his first stint at the club but silverware always evaded him. Now he’s back he’d love another shot at it.

“I’d love to get to the Cup final, I really would,” said Moyes. “It was brought up. I think Louis scored after 29 seconds [in 2009] and we were talking because I mentioned it in my programme notes as we scored last week in 10 seconds. “I think everybody wants to win the Cup, I don’t believe anyone goes out not trying to win the cup. If we can keep ourselves involved in the Cup it would be good. We’re not a club involved.

“We need to start bringing some good news back around Everton if we can and I think getting through to the next round would be a good news story.”. Moyes is mulling over his options on whether to rotate much with Everton still needing points in the Premier League. Or keep the team strong to maintain momentum after three wins on the bounce has helped lift the mood on the blue half of Merseyside. But he does believe they can play with more freedom heading into the Cup tie against the in-form Cherries at Goodison Park.

Moyes added: “Less pressure? I'm thinking about it only because you're always judged more on how you do over a season. We play 38 games so to be judged over the season is probably a bigger thing than to be maybe a Cup-winning team but the cup in this country is so vital to everybody, winning trophies is something everybody wants to do. “I think that you're right in some ways, I think that sometimes these games give you the feeling it's not got the same pressure and maybe it gives you the feeling of having a bit more freedom because you feel that way.”.
