In the case of disgraced hip-hop mogul P Diddy, it seems as though the earth-shattering allegations are never-ending. As he awaits trial on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, the 55-year-old is now the focus of a new documentary, Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy, which details his childhood, early career and relationships with his nearest and dearest.
Created by Peacock, the 90-minute doc enlists the help of the star’s former friends and employees (bodyguards, make-up artists and record label workers) to paint a picture of Diddy’s ascent to fame and the dark stories that lurk behind it. While we’ll have to wait until his trial begins in May to discover his fate, in the meantime, we’ve rounded up the fresh accusations brought against Diddy – real name Sean Combs – in the new Peacock documentary.
The most headline-inducing of the allegations against Combs came in the form of his alleged ‘freak-off’ parties hosted at his various mansions. Essentially orgies fueled by drugs, emotional and physical abuse and non-consensual sexual acts, these freak-offs are thought to have merged with his high-profile, exclusive parties attended by (just about) every Hollywood name you can think of.
According to Combs’ childhood friend Tim ‘Dawg’ Patterson, the rapper was used to being around sex and drugs-filled environments from a young age, as his mother, Janice Combs, hosted similar parties at the weekends as Combs grew up. “It goes back to childhood,” the hip-hop producer says in the documentary. “He was around all type of alcohol; he was around reefer [marijuana] smoke. He was around drug addicts... pimps, pushers.” Patterson says that attendees of the parties were from “the streets” of Harlem, and it would be a usual occurrence to walk into a bedroom and see a couple “butt naked”.
