PRESIDENT Donald Trump has revealed a clue as to who he believes will win in the upcoming Super Bowl involving the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. His prediction comes a day after it was reported that Trump would attend Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans on Sunday, and it has now been revealed who he will enjoy the game with. On Tuesday, Trump was seated at his desk in the Oval Office as he received a wide range of questions from reporters.
During the sequence, he was questioned about the Super Bowl and who he thinks will win the big game. The newly inaugurated President Trump didn't give a clear answer, but he made it seem that he believes the Kansas City Chiefs will come out on top. "I don't want to say but there's a certain quarterback that seems to be a pretty good winner," he said. That winner could be Patrick Mahomes, who's led the Chiefs to two consecutive Super Bowl titles and could win a historic third in a row.
Trump is expected to be the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl. It's been revealed that Trump will be a guest of honor of New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson, whom he's expected to sit with at the showdown, per Front Office Sports. The 78-year-old businesswoman Gayle has been the owner of the NFL team since her husband died in 2018. This year's Super Bowl will take place at Caesars Superdome.
Trump's attendance will lead to increased security as the game comes more than a month after an Isis-inspired terrorist killed 14 people on Bourbon Street. Trump has attended huge college football games in the past. This NFL season, he attended a Pittsburgh Steelers primetime game before the presidential election. Trump will also be part of Fox's coverage of the big game. He will be talking with Fox News host and top political anchor Bret Baier as part of a pre-taped interview at one of his residences, Mar-A-Logo in Palm Beach.
In recent years, the network broadcasting the Super Bowl has handed an interview to a sitting president. President Joe Biden skipped the pregame interview during the last two years of his presidency. Trump also declined an interview with NBC in 2018. It's not clear who the commander-in-chief will support in the Super Bowl. However, Trump did congratulate the Chiefs for earning a trip to the Super Bowl after their AFC Championship win over the Buffalo Bills.
