Cochrane is the latest black and minority ethnic coach to join England's senior staff after Ashley Cole and Joleon Lescott, who worked under interim head coach Lee Carsley in the autumn, and Chris Powell and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, both of whom assisted Gareth Southgate.
The German, who began work as Southgate's permanent successor on January 1, has already named Anthony Barry as his assistant, with performance coach Nicolas Mayer, goalkeeper coach Henrique Hilario and analyst James Melbourne also making up his staff.
New England head coach Thomas Tuchel has made Brentford's Justin Cochrane the latest addition to his backroom staff.
The Football Association are poised to announce the appointment of 43-year-old Cochrane, who is expected to work part-time with England and retain his job as the Bees' head of coaching - a role he has held since 2022.
Cochrane came through the FA's coaching pathway and has already held key roles with England's youth teams, having coached the Under-16 and U-17 sides.
