ERIK TEN HAG could be reunited with Marcus Rashford at a European giant as the Dutchman nears a return to management, reports suggest. Ten Hag, 54, has been out of a job since he was sacked by Man Utd in October. However, the former Ajax boss is said to be edging closer to his next job.

According to the Daily Mail, German side Borussia Dortmund are discussing whether to replace Nuri Sahin as manager. Dortmund are sitting 10th in the Bundesliga and are already out of the Champions League. And sources in Germany suggest the situation is now a "when not if" position.

This would potentially boost their bid to sign Rashford on loan, with the Englishman's future up in the air in England. Dortmund are looking for a left-sided attacker after selling Donyell Malen to Aston Villa. It has been claimed Ten Hag is keen to work with Rashford again, which would achieve that target.

Rashford, 27, produced both his best season of football under Ten Hag in 2022/23 as he scored 30 goals in all competitions. JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS. However, he then slumped to just eight the following season. Rashford had seven goals this term before he was frozen out at Man Utd by Ten Hag's successor Ruben Amorim.

Amorim, 39, has included Rashford in only one matchday squad since the star admitted he "wanted a new challenge". The former Sporting Lisbon boss doubled down by saying his exile was the "best for the team". He said: "It is his choice [not to play]. I don’t want to focus on this bad moment because in the games we lost, Rashford is not here.
