Eva Longoria stepped out in New York City this week after pledging $1million to victims of the ongoing LA fires. The Desperate Housewives star, 49, cut a casual chic figure in a black hoodie, tailored jacket, leggings and sneakers as she headed to the airport.
Her brunette locks were styled in soft waves and she sported a radiant palette of make-up. The star was heading out after increasing her initial $50,000 donation for Los Angeles fire relief and recovery to $1 million. The actress and entrepreneur — who has evacuated her SoCal home — will support the Latino Community Foundation and the California Community Foundation with the generous contribution.
The organizations have pledged to assist in the immediate and long-term recuperation of the communities impacted by the weeklong wildfires that have ravaged the city. Eva Longoria stepped out in New York City this week after pledging $1million to victims of the ongoing LA fires.
Tens of thousands of residents have been forced to vacate their homes since the infernos sparked last Tuesday. The death toll is currently at 24, and more than 40,000 acres have been scorched by the unprecedented flames. Longoria's new $1 million donation is from the Courage and Civility Award presented to her by Jeff Bezos last March.
Bezos' annual monetary prize of $50 million is given to those who make substantial contributions to society. Longoria has a decade to name a charity to which she'll donate the money, and now she's chosen LA's fire recovery as the first recipient, per The Hollywood Reporter.
