The altercation happened after Everton faced Liverpool at Anfield in 1998, in a match that ended 1-1 with both Ferguson and Paul Ince on the scoresheet for their respective clubs.
DUNCAN FERGUSON was offered out by Liverpool captain Paul Ince after a Merseyside derby.
Ferguson retired at Everton in 2006 after making over 250 appearances for the club and has gone on to have two spells as interim head coach of the Toffees in 2019 and 2022.
When Ince eventually arrived to face Ferguson, the two smoothed over the episode and enjoyed a few pints in the players' lounge.
Ferguson explained: “Someone told me that he said he’d see me after the game in the players’ lounge.
