Ewan McGregor takes legal action to stop woman who posed 'imminent danger' to his family Ewan McGregor has asked for a restraining order against a woman who is alleged to have made threats against him and drove hundreds of miles to see him at Christmas, it was reported yesterday.

Ewan McGregor and his wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead were at the house celebrating the festive season when the woman tried to access the property.

The website reported that a temporary restraining order has been granted, requiring the woman to remain 100 yards away from McGregor, his wife, his ex-wife and his five children.

It is claimed she sent more than 500 emails to McGregor or his family, including his 23-year-old daughter Esther, since 2022, with the common theme that she wants to have children with him.

Court documents filed in the United States allege the woman saw herself as the 53-year-old Trainspotting star’s jilted lover and believed his second wife, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 40, stole him from her.
