Safety experts have issued an urgent warning to parents, telling them to stop using plug protectors immediately. In a video posted to the WhichUK Instagram, the British consumer champion group explained that though seeming handy, they can actually increase the risk of electrical shock and fire.

Plug protectors are used by thousands of mothers and fathers hoping to keep children out of harm's way. But according to the organisation, they may in fact do the opposite by disrupting existing safety measures already in place. Speaking in the video, the expert claimed parents should: 'Chuck these all away as soon as you can - they are dangerous!'.
