AMAD came off the bench to once again inspire Manchester United to victory. Diogo Dalot and Kobbie Mainoo slotted home midway through the first half as United cruised into the last 16 of the Europa League. Red Devils left-back Tyrell Malacia picked up an early card for a chopping challenge that left Florin Tanase needing lengthy treatment. Mainoo then missed a gaping chance from 10 yards. And Rasmus Hojlund headed a cross from Lisandro Martinez straight at the keeper.

But despite dictating possession, United failed to break though in the first period. Boss Ruben Amorim replaced full-back Malacia and midfielder Toby Collyer with attacking widemen Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo for the second period. And FCSB still struggled to create any momentum, let alone chances. United midfielder Christian Eriksen swerved over a teasing free-kick that Lisandro Martinez nodded just wide.
