Maughreen comes from fine stock, with her dam a half-sister to the real 'Machine', former Champion Hurdle king Faugheen.

Owned by the Closutton Racing Club, Maughreen is as short as 9-2 for the always ultra-competitive Mares' Novice Hurdle, a race Mullins won from 2016-2020. Sky Sports Racing host Alex Hammond, who owns a part of the horse, put her up as one of her three to follow for this season.
