Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page has revealed that she suffered a nasty injury on the last day of filming the show's Christmas finale. The beloved BBC sitcom's last ever instalment will air in a 90-minute special on Christmas Day this year after fans of the show begged for an end to the story.
Joanna, 47, who has played Stacey since 2007, explained the incident occurred after she became overwhelmed when realising the award winning show was ending once and for all. She told The Sun: 'On the last day on set, I was thinking 'pull yourself together', but I was in such a state I knocked my boiling hot coffee over myself in make-up.
'I had to get the costume department to wash my clothes. It was good, as the shock of being scalded shook me out of it.'. Joanna previously revealed that filming the last-ever episode left her 'hysterically crying and laughing'. 'I saw Steve's face, our first AD, and I just burst out crying. Then I saw Sophie Hebron, our second AD, and I burst out crying again. So then I went into my trailer and Julia Davis came in and sat with me, and I couldn't stop crying, because it just felt it was such a huge journey that was ending.
