It all kicks off when Joanie ‘Nan’ Taylor receives a letter from her younger sister Nell (Katherine Parkinson) revealing she’s dying. While Nan’s grandson Jamie (Mathew Horne) wants to go visit her, the cantankerous Nan is more reluctant by eventually agrees, with the pair setting off on a road trip that features ‘militant vegan arsonists, raucous rugby teams, all night raves and crazed cops on motorbikes’.

However, when the film was released, it was largely panned by critics and currently holds a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In its review, The Guardian called it a ‘truly horrendous and depressing film’ while The Daily Telegraph labelled it ‘rubbish’.

Meanwhile Empire said it was ‘lacking in charm and good jokes’. Their sentiments were echoed by viewers too. ‘What was this movie? It was cringey, boring, and very stupid. Worst movie I have ever seen to be honest,’ Regina wrote. ‘This move is abysmal. The plot doesn’t fit. The comedy is anything but and the movie is simply rubbish. Don’t waste your time watching this, you can and should do better,’ Daniel commented.
