Edwina Bartholomew has delivered a heartbreaking tribute to her fellow Sunrise colleague who tragically died earlier this year. On Monday, the 41-year-old breakfast show presenter honoured several celebrities who had died in 2024. They included global names like James Earl Jones, Shannen Doherty, Donald Sutherland, Dame Maggie Smith and Liam Payne, plus local stars including John Blackman and George Negus.

As they wrapped up the in memoriam, Edwina mentioned a loss that was 'close to home': Sunrise reporter Nathan Templeton, who died in April aged 44 after suffering a medical episode while walking his dog. 'Nathan Templeton spent the last 12 years with us at Channel Seven, bringing humour and heart to every single story he covered,' she said in a voiceover while a montage of clips played of the Seven star.

'Tempo, we miss you every day.'. Edwina Bartholomew (back left) has delivered a heartbreaking tribute to fellow Sunrise colleague Nathan Templeton (back right) who tragically died earlier this year. Templeton's body was found on a walking track near the Barwon River in Geelong in April.

The father of two leaves behind his wife Kate and their two young sons Jack and James. 'Our hearts are broken for an adoring father and a wonderful friend, who'll be missed by many,' his family said in a statement at the time. Just a few days earlier, Templeton had shared photos to Instagram of himself and his two young sons eating chocolate eggs on Easter morning.
