BBC Scotland director Hayley Valentine would love to see Scotland games back on TV screens.
The Norwegian broadcasters were unable to negotiate a deal to sub-license the games - despite armchair supporters hoping the BBC or ITV might step in on a regular basis - and a number of Scotland’s Nations League games could only be viewed on Viaplay’s YouTube channel last year.
I would love to see Scottish men's football team back on our screens, admits BBC Scotland's new director .
Now Ms Valentine, who took on the top job at BBC Scotland last November, has offered a flicker of hope that the corporation might be willing to come to the rescue and show Scotland’s qualifiers free to air.
The new director of BBC Scotland has revealed that the corporation are holding talks over potentially showing the national men’s football team’s games live on TV.
