"We remain friends and our priority is the love for our children. For their sake we would appreciate privacy at this time. C x. Matthew shared the same message on his Instagram Story, signing off with "M".
And now, over a year later, the couple put their family home on the market for £900,000. Charley, 34, and Matthew, 44, shared the four-bedroomed Harrogate property with their three kids; Buster, 14, Bowie, nine, and Ace, five, before their shock split. It boasts a spacious outdoor summer house in a huge back garden and stunning finishes throughout.
Shortly after their split, an insider claimed Charley was 'hardly at home' and 'moved lots of her stuff out'. Matthew also appeared on Loose Women and thanked his parents for helping him through the split. He said: "Bless my mum and dad, I owe them a holiday after this because they have moved into the house and they are looking after the kids.”.
The former couple first met on the set of Emmerdale and started dating in 2007. Two years later, they announced their engagement and married in a secret ceremony in 2018. In early 2023, rumours started circulating about the status of their relationship. Before the split was announced, fans noticed he unfollowed Charley on Instagram.
