If you're in the mood for a tasty meal but can't face the thought of slaving over a hot stove, Jamie Oliver's 'Hit n Run' chicken traybake could be just what you need. The celebrity chef has shared this recipe from his cookbook 'Save with Jamie', which is not only incredibly affordable but also packed full of flavour. With tender chicken and a simple sauce to give the vegetables a rich taste, it takes just five minutes to prepare before roasting slowly in the oven for an hour.

Plus, at only 301 calories per serving, it's a healthy choice too. Jamie said: "Let the oven do all the hard work with this simple chicken traybake recipe.". Ingredients. Kitchen essentials. Instructions. Preheat the oven to 180C or Gas Mark 4. Cut the tomatoes into quarters and place them in the tray. Peel and cut the onions into large wedges, then deseed and chip up the peppers. Add the prepared vegetables to the oven tray alongside the chicken thighs.

Then, squash the unpeeled garlic cloves with your cutting knife and add them to the tray, reports the Express. Scatter the thyme leaves over the tray and season with paprika. Add two tablespoons of the balsamic vinegar and then season with salt and pepper. Toss everything together to make sure it is thoroughly coated, then spread evenly across the tray. Make sure the chicken is on top and not covered by any of the vegetables.

Pop your chicken in the oven for about an hour or until it's gorgeously golden, crispy, and cooked through. Remember to baste it with the tray juices now and then. When it’s ready, you’ve got yourself a stunning tray bake. Jamie Oliver recommends pairing it with a "lovely" green salad, some crusty bread, or rice for a smashing meal.
