Do knobbly potatoes still taste amazing baked and filled with beans and cheese? Do curvy cucumbers taste any less fresh in a salad? Do tiny plums taste any less sweet when enjoyed in the sun?. No, is the answer. So why are shops so odd about ‘ugly’ produce?.

These days, supermarkets have a ridiculous aversion to odd-looking fruits and veg, casting aside imperfect produce for aesthetics, plastic-wrapping bananas and oranges and subjecting your five a day to countless air miles when our own, imperfectly perfect veggies are ripe for the taking.

Oddbox’s mission is to turn this topsy-turvy system on its head, flipping things back the way they should be and fighting food waste one spectacular spud at a time. Oddbox is a fruit and veg delivery service that rescues knobbly, odd, surplus produce from being wasted by sending them to you, ensuring that they’re sticking to what is available and in season for minimal wastage.

Oddbox are a fruit and veg delivery service that rescue the knobbly, odd, surplus produce from being binned by sending them to you, ensuring that they’re going off what is available and in season for minimal wastage. Because they don’t care if a carrot is curvy or a spud is unsightly – it’s all still good.

Filling your fridge with delicious, fresh fruits and veggies, no matter how wonky, while helping to curve food waste and reduce unnecessary packaging, Oddbox is the produce prodigy we all need in our lives. Because food waste is no joke, people. In fact, around 40% of all food produced globally goes to waste, with around 1.5 million tonnes wasted in the UK at the manufacturing stage (that’s before it even reaches the shops).
