Josh Allen defiantly took aim at the Bills' critics on Sunday after Buffalo booked their spot in the AFC Championship Game with a thrilling win over the Ravens. Lamar Jackson and Co. had a chance to tie the game at 27 apiece with about 90 seconds remaining, but tight end Mark Andrews dropped a two-point conversion and Buffalo was able to get to the finish line.
'How about that Buffalo Bills defense? All year, this team has heard we got no talent,' Allen told CBS' Tracy Wolfson after the game. 'We're too small, we can't stop the run. We're not good enough to compete. We just put our head down and worked hard.
'I'm so proud of our defense. I'm so proud of our offense and special teams. What a complete win. Obviously, on the offensive side of the ball, we wish we scored a little more so we didn't have to take it down to the fourth quarter like that. But that's a really good team, credit to them as well.'.
The win sets up a fourth meeting between Allen and his friend Patrick Mahomes in the postseason, with the latter's Chiefs winning all three previous matchups. Allen stopped short of guaranteeing a win to Wolfson when she asked why his next postseason contest versus Mahomes will go differently.
'I can't tell you that. I just know we're going to work hard,' he said. 'We're going to have a heck of a week. We're going to enjoy this one tonight., turn our attention to the Chiefs tomorrow. 'We know what they are,' he continued. 'You know they're the perennial of what you want to be in the NFL. Someone's got to beat them, to get past them. So you know, we're enjoying this one tonight. '.
