Kate Middleton shows strength and warmth during outing in new 'favourite' colour

After giving her fans the news that she was cancer-free at the end of last year, Princess of Wales Kate Middleton has slowly been stepping back into her Royal duties, which included a visit to Royal Marsden London to visit patients currently battling with their own cancer diagnosis. Today (January 14) Kate joined Prince William to become Joint Patrons of the specialist cancer care centre at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, which is where Kate received treatment following her own cancer diagnosis.
For the occasion, Kate wore a sophisticated burgundy midi skirt and matching high neck jumper, with the colour hiding a special hidden meaning. Although burgundy has been a top trending colour of recent seasons, the shade is also said to signify good fortune, as well as warmth, comfort and strength, making it the perfect choice for Kate’s sensitive visit to the hospital.

The outing marked Kate’s first solo Royal outing since her cancer diagnosis, making this a poignant moment for the Princess of Wales. Kate has also been known to wear various shades of red for other significant occasions, including introducing Prince Louis, honouring Princess Diana and launching her Shaping Us campaign.
In true Kate style, the outfit was also a re-wear, after she previously wore the same look whilst visiting Cornwall in 2023. For both occasions, Kate wore the Edeline Lee Plait Skirt, which is still available to buy for £595, and paired it with Kiltane’s Women's Cashmere Polo Neck Jumper in shade Bordeaux, which is now on sale down from £129 to £60, although there are very few sizes left in her exact burgundy shade.
