Jamie Vardy could have scored twice in the opening three minutes, first when he failed to make proper contact with Facundo Buonanotte’s low cross and then with a volley on the run that flew just wide. The lively Stephy Mavididi saw a shot blocked by Guehi and moments later sent Vardy racing through.
