Erling Haaland bagged his first goal in five games for Manchester City to secure a hard-fought victory over Leicester City and end the champions' year on a high. The visitors were looking to put their miserable fortunes of late behind them and bag just a second win in 10 Premier League games but looked jittery in the opening exchanges and susceptible to Leicester's pacey counter-attacks.
Jamie Vardy, ever the talisman for the Foxes, looked threatening and thought he had a penalty until the linesman raised his flag, before hitting the ball straight at a recovering Stefan Ortega having rounded the goalkeeper. Erling Haaland bagged his first goal in five games for Man City to secure a hard-fought victory.
Savinho (centre) had scored the opening goal, his first in the league for the champions. The win eased the pressure on Pep Guardiola after winning just once in nine matches.
