At the time, Liam had been on a US road trip with his friends yet delayed his flight back to London so he could get to know Kate.
Kate has admitted she does not remember their final phone conversation but they enjoyed horseback riding on their last day together.
Following Liam's death, Kate paid tribute to her late boyfriend in a heartfelt social media post.
