LIVERPOOL are considering a swoop on Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich as a potential replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to reports. The clock is running down on Alexander-Arnold's current deal, which expires in the summer, as Real Madrid move in on the right-back.
As both parties wait on tender hooks, Liverpool are reportedly eager to be prepared in case Alexander-Arnold departs his boyhood club. The Premier League leaders are interested in a move for Kimmich , according to Bild reporter Christian Falk. Like Alexander-Arnold, the German international is also out of contract at the end of the season.
Falk wrote on X: “Liverpool are considering the signing of Joshua Kimmich. “Kimmich is a free agent in the summer, Bayern are in talks with Kimmich for a new contract.”. But Liverpool have been free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with the player since January 1.
Falk did not clarify whether Liverpool intend to make a January bid or whether they will wait until he is a free agent in the summer. Meanwhile, Alexander-Arnold is wanted by Madrid and the Spanish giants have seen a £20million bid for him rejected. FOOTBALL FREE BETS AND SIGN UP DEALS.
He has been benched for Liverpool's Carabao Cup semi-final against Spurs after his Manchester United horror show on Sunday. The England star's future could wind up being tied to what role Kimmich would play if Liverpool were to strike a deal. The 29-year-old has played in central midfield all season for Bayern, though began his career as a right-back.
