Liverpool have rejected Crystal Palace’s £15m bid for Ben Doak. The Reds believe the offer is well short of the club’s valuation of the Scotland international. Doak, 19, is currently enjoying a successful spell on loan at Middlesbrough this season.

But there is interest from a number of clubs in taking him on a permanent deal this month. However, the Reds won’t accept any bids below their valuation which is expected to be north of £20m. Doak has three senior caps for Scotland and has made 20 appearances this season in the Championship. Palace may come back with another offer but they will have to significantly up their bid to stand any chance of landing the promising wide player.

Doak has made 10 appearances for the Reds - including three in the Premier League - but has yet to establish himself as a first-team player at Anfield. He suffered a serious knee injury last season which kept him out of the second half of the campaign.

Doak was in Steve Clarke’s initial Euros squad last summer but an injury in training ruled him out of the tournament. He featured in all six UEFA Nations League games, setting up John McGinn's opener against Poland in the final match. The youngster scored his first Boro goal in September and added another in a December draw with Sheffield Wednesday. Michael Carrick, manager of the Championship side, suggested Doak's form could make him a marked man going forward.

Will Ben Doak leave Liverpool this month? Have your say in the comments section. Liverpool boss Arne Slot spoke to the media on Friday ahead of the Reds' match against Manchester United, with the future of other Reds stars remaining the topic of debate. Trent Alexander-Arnold continues to be linked with a Real Madrid switch, with Slot providing an update of sorts on the right-back.
