Arne Slot is expected to rotate his Liverpool side as they travel to face PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday night. The Reds have already secured a top-eight finish in the league phase after seven straight wins, ensuring they are through to the last-16 whatever happens in the Netherlands.
Slot could therefore take the chance to rest some of his first-team stars, particularly with a tough trip to Bournemouth coming on Saturday, before Liverpool then face Tottenham in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie. Mohamed Salah is likely to be given a rare night off, which could allow Federico Chiesa to make only his second start of the season.
Darwin Nunez will hope to lead the line, with Harvey Elliott potentially starting in an attacking midfield role behind him. It has been a hugely impressive season from Ryan Gravenberch so far and he could be one of those rested, as the likes of Wataru Endo and Tyler Morton push to get their chances in midfield.
Conor Bradley and Kostas Tsimikas are obvious options to start at full-back, but Slot has limited room for rotation in the centre of defence. Joe Gomez remains out injured, so Virgil van Dijk could prove the experience at the back, potentially alongside Jarell Quansah.
Predicted Liverpool XI: Kelleher; Bradley, Quansah, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Endo, Morton; Chiesa, Elliott, Diaz; Nunez. Injured: Gomez, Jones, Jota. Time and date: 8pm GMT on Wednesday January 29 2025. Venue: Philips Stadion. TV channel and live stream: TNT Sports.
