Luke Littler parades World Darts Championship trophy around Old Trafford at half time of Man United's clash against Brighton

Darts star Luke Littler achieved his aim of parading the Sid Waddell Trophy around Old Trafford on Sunday. The 17-year-old Manchester United fan had spoken of his desire to show the trophy off in front of the club's supporters. United invited Littler to Old Trafford for their game against Brighton, with Littler entering the pitch at half time.
He received a warm reception from the supporters inside the ground. Littler won the PDC World Championship title earlier this month as he overcame Michael van Gerwen in an entertaining encounter. He managed to secure glory having been beaten by Luke Humphries in the 2024 final.

Littler watched on at Old Trafford as United suffered a 3-1 defeat against Brighton. Littler won't have been happy from what he saw from United, with Ruben Amorim's side losing 3-1 against Brighton. Yankuba Minteh gave Brighton an early lead before Bruno Fernandes equalised for United with a penalty.
United then seized control of the game, with Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter both scoring. On Friday night Littler returned to action in his first tournament as world champion. However, matters didn't go to plan for Littler as he was beaten by Gerwyn Price.
