A man has revealed how to make the McDonald's Grimace shake at home using just five ingredients. The viral purple shake, which was brought in as part of the fast food chain's birthday celebrations, is about to leave the McDonald's menu for the second time this year.
It was first added to the menu for one week only in the summer, but returned by popular demand on December 11. Unfortunately, it won't be staying for much longer, however, with the drink set to leave the menu on Christmas Day. Luckily, it's easy to make yourself, with one TikTok user sharing their simple recipe. Posting to TikTok last year after the shake left American menus, Robert, also known as @mcdonalds_hacks101, said: "As you know, the Grimace shake is no more so I'm going to show you how you can make one at home.".
McDonald's fans were divided by the recipe, with one writing: "That looks so good." Another said: "OoooOOo thank youuu it looks sooooo good.". Not everyone was convinced though, with one commenting: "Tried this it's not similar I think blueberry syrup and strawberry is more accurate", while another said: "I tried but it just tasted like a smoothie.".
A third suggested: "Do strawberry jam instead of raspberries and it's so much closer to the grimace shake." Another TikTok user said: "no it's blueberry, raspberry 3 scoop ice cream 1 cup of milk and strawberry jam!". If you want to try Robert's original recipe yourself, here's everything you'll need to make one serving of the DIY Grimace shake.
