Manchester United winger Antony is reportedly set to travel to Spain ahead of joining Real Betis on loan. The Brazilian has not started a league game for United this season but has found himself being used off the bench by Ruben Amorim. There were progressive talks between United and Betis over the past week, surrounding its financial structure.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs have reached an agreement and Antony will travel to Spain on Friday night before undergoing a medical. The Italian journalist reports that Betis will cover 84% of the winger's whopping £200,000 per week salary.
The loan will last until June 2025 without a buy option included. Manchester United winger Antony is reportedly set to travel to Spain ahead of joining Real Betis. The Brazilian has not started under Ruben Amorim and not scored in the league this season. Earlier this month, Olympiacos expressed interest in a loan move for the beleaguered winger, but he did not want to play for the Greek side, Mail Sport understands.
Erik ten Hag made Antony, his former charge at Ajax, one of his first signings in 2022 in a mega £86million move, but things have not gone to plan. Across eight Premier League appearances this season, he has logged just 135 minutes and has netted once in all competitions - a penalty in an EFL Cup game against Barnsley.
