Martin Lewis’ MSE issues warning for British Airways vouchers

Money Saving Expert – the personal finance site founded by Martin Lewis – has shared some important advice for anyone with British Airways vouchers. According to MSE, up to €139 million (£117 million) in unredeemed eVouchers issued by the airline are set to expire soon. So if you’ve got any to spend, time is of the essence.
In a recent post, the money gurus explained: ‘During the Covid-19 restrictions, BA allowed passengers to cancel their bookings in exchange for a voucher to spend with the firm at a later date. ‘Passengers whose flights were cancelled by the airline during this period were also given this option.’.
While the initial deadline to use up the credit (April 30, 2022) was pushed back multiple times, there’s no guarantee the same will happen this time around. As such, MSE says: ‘The safest option is to redeem your voucher in good time to ensure you don’t lose out.’.
The new expiry on the vouchers is 11.59pm on September 30, 2025 — and that’s not just to book, you need to have taken any flights or package holidays before this date. Think you may have some but can’t be sure? It’s easy to find out; just enter your email address on the BA website and you’ll receive an email letting you know (including the remaining balance).
