Maura Higgins and Pete Wicks were spotted looking very much a smitten couple ahead of the festive period. The duo, whose romantic link has long been speculated, were snapped looking as though they were heading off on a Christmas getaway together. The former Love Island and I'm A Celebrity star, 34, was beaming as she stood by the former TOWIE man, 34.
Maura was seen wearing white jogging trousers and a black vest crop top with a black hooded jacket over the top. Pete was more wrapped up, wearing a black beanie hat, black sweat trousers and a black and white patterned fleecy jacket. The images, obtained by the Sun, show the duo loading suitcases into a car for their apparent getaway. It's the latest time together the pair have spent since both finishing their reality TV stints this month. Following her jungle escapades, Maura touched on the apparent blossoming romance between the pair.
Speaking to Alison Hammond on This Morning shortly after she was the sixth celeb to leave camp, she said: "You do forget about the cameras, and I do like to keep things private, but let's be real, I said it. I can't remember saying it, but I said the words 'I miss him'. I do miss him, like I missed all my friends and family. Honestly, he's been so supportive, honestly. I didn't know if he was still in Strictly and I'm so proud of him, he's proud of me, and I can't wait to see him when I get back.".
Pete also opened up about the pair's connection recently. While talking to his co-host and best pal Sam Thompson on their Staying Relevant podcast, the duo were updating listeners on the latest goings-on in their lives. As Sam shared details of his interview with Maura after she had been voted out of the ITV show, Sam initially claimed he was not planning to talk about Pete's relationship with Maura in the I'm A Celebrity spin-off show.
