Reality TV star Molly-Mae Hague has described the issues she was having with former fiancé Tommy Fury before the couple broke up in August last year. The former Love Island star, who split from co-star Tommy in August after five years together, is a launching new documentary today. Prime Video series Molly-Mae: Behind It All takes fans behind-the-scenes of her break-up and the launch of her clothing brand Maebe, with the first three episodes now available on the streamer.

Speaking about her relationship with Tommy relationship in the documentary, the Love Island star chats to her mother about their split and says: “There were exterior issues that were going on for him that was causing our relationship to have problems.” When her mum Debbie questions her about what the issues were, Molly-Mae replies: "It’s just drinking, isn’t it.”.

She also emotionally reveals one incident that remains in her memory. “At my sister's wedding, I literally pleaded with Tommy, like I begged him to not drink, and it’s just, I don’t know, it’s just so sad. It affected me. That’s why my relationship with alcohol is really damaged. When you reflect on it, it’s really hard.”.

Molly-Mae and Tommy met on Love Island in 2019, and split last year following rumours that he may have cheated. In the fly on the wall documentary series, which launches with three episodes, Molly-Mae talks in more detail about how she feels about drinking, and how it affected her relationship with Tommy.

“I never, ever wanted to be with someone that drank, because my mum had a period of time in her life where she struggled because her marriage of 25 years had just ended, and she turned to drink, probably more than she should have,” Molly-Mae says on the show. “And I was only about 14, 15 when that happened, and I saw my mum in some state, going through a really vulnerable time. So I have never, ever, ever been around it in a positive light.”.
