She has been embroiled in many bitter feuds, bullying accusations and controversies throughout her 36 years presenting Sky News. And Kay Burley famously divided viewers in one particular interview with Peter Andre on Sky News in 2010. The toe-curling interview has recently resurfaced since the presenter announced her retirement on Wednesday. Peter, 51, was overcome with emotion as the controversial broadcaster, 64, grilled him on his relationship with Katie Price and their children - soon after they split in 2009 after four years of marriage.

The brash interview was cleared of bullying at the time after she received numerous Ofcom complaints, as well as criticism from Peter himself. The Aussie singer bought the interview to a halt after Kay showed him a clip of Katie's ex Dwight Yorke criticising Peter for wanting to adopt the former footballer's son Harvey. And Kay famously divided viewers in one particular interview with Peter Andre, 51, on Sky News in 2010. Kay then pushed to ask Peter how he would feel if Katie's then husband Alex Reid - who she split from just over a year after their wedding in 2011 - wanted to adopt his kids Princess and Junior. The pop star is father to Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, with Katie, who he was married to from 2005 until 2009.

He then went on to tie the knot with GP Emily MacDonagh, 35, in 2015, and they have Millie, 11, eight-year-old Theo, and welcomed their second daughter in April 2024. As well as being proud mum to Junior and Princess, the television personality is also mum to Harvey, 22, from her previous relationship with Dwight and Bunny, nine, and Jett, 10, from her marriage to Kieran Hayler. Fighting back tears, Peter insisted: 'No one is going to take my kids away from me. Nobody, and I will fight till the death for that.

'Sorry, I just didn't expect that. Nobody is going to take my kids away from me and I would die for those children.'. Kay asked: 'So, if Katie came home and said "Alex and I want to...". Peter interrupted: 'It's not going to happen. I tell you now, I will go to court. I don't really want to talk about this okay?'. 'Can we um... I'd rather just stop this if that's okay, sorry', he added. He appeared visibly upset and said he did not wish to talk about the issue and asked to cut the interview. Ofcom received 881 complaints from viewers, the majority of whom were concerned by the 'intrusive' manner in which Peter was interviewed. Ofcom found that Burley's interview was 'persistent and probing' - but not 'bullying and intimidating'.

The regulator found it was 'in keeping' with the established editorial line of the programme to ask Andre questions about the new marriage given that it was a major news story. Ofcom said at the time: 'Further, it was understandable that the presenter focused on the human interest angle of the wedding by asking Peter Andre for his reaction, and how it would impact on their children. 'In Ofcom's view, the audience could therefore reasonably have expected the presenter to ask him about the wedding, and the implications of it, given that the interview was taking place on a rolling news programme on the same day that the wedding featured as a major news item.'.

Kay announced she is retiring from the channel after 36 years and made the shock announcement on Wednesday after closing out what turned out to be her final Sky News Breakfast. She made the announcement at the end of the programme with no notice - looking back on a remarkable career at the forefront of news, having been part of the team that launched Sky News in 1989. Staff were made aware of her plans immediately after she made the announcement on air - after Sky bosses decided it was only appropriate that the trailblazing female broadcaster got to break the story herself.
