Houston Rockets player Fred VanVleet was caught on camera wiping sweat from his head on to the hands of a rival on Thursday night. The Rockets were beaten 120-119 by the Memphis Grizzlies in a thrilling game that went down to the wire. Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. stepped up to the free-throw line with just 8.6 seconds remaining in the game as he tried to extend his team's lead. In a desperate move to preserve the Rockets' chances of victory, VanVleet decided he would try and disrupt Jackson Jr.'s rhythm and grip on the ball.

Footage shows the moment he brushes sweat off of his own forehead on to his hand and then try and rub it on the Jackson Jr.'s hands. Jackson Jr. remained unfazed throughout and went on to nail both of his free throws to inspire the Grizzlies to victory. Fans reacted to the footage with disgust and took to social media to vent their fury at VanVleet. One wrote: 'Savage move, but JJJ (Jackson Jr.) stayed ice cool'. Another commented: 'That's just gross tbh'. A third posted: 'Someone disrespects me like that we're throwing'. 'Savage move', another fan called it. Jackson Jr. produced an impressive performance, contributing 21 points, four rebounds and four assists for the Grizzlies. VanVleet scored 13 points and added one rebound and five assists in the loss.
