However, the Team GB legend suffered a miscarriage in 2021 after having their first son, before Dame Laura also had to undergo surgery and have a fallopian tube removed due to an ectopic pregnancy the following year. In an Instagram post tagging her husband, Dame Laura, 32, wrote: ‘2024 was wonderful, 2025 is going to be even more special.’. The video she posted zoomed out from her Christmas tree onto the backs of her two young sons, who were wearing T-shirts that read: ‘I’m going to be a big brother to a baby.’.

The clip then showed Dame Laura standing in front of the tree cradling her bump and smiling. She was flooded with messages of support, with many posting their congratulations. Last year Dame Laura left many shocked after announcing she was stepping down from the sport just a few months before she’d been expected to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
