Paul Danan had plans for 'big TV comeback' before his tragic death at 46

Hollyoaks star Paul Danan had planned to make a comeback to television shortly before his death, it has been claimed. Paul shot to fame in 1997 as he undertook the role of Sol Patrick on Hollyoaks. He then went on reality show Celebrity Love Island in 2005 and returned for the second series in 2006.
He had a number of TV appearances throughout the years, but his TV career dwindled in recent years. Paul died at age 46 earlier this week as his management shared a statement to announce the news. It read: "It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of @pauldanan at just 46 years old. Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many.
"His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him. During this difficult time, we kindly request respect and privacy for Paul's family, friends, and colleagues. No further comments will be made at this time.". Now, it has been reported Paul had been in the midst of planning a big return to television before his tragic death. Paul is understood to have been put forward for Celebs Go Dating and is said to have been "feeling optimistic" about his future, the Daily Mail claims.
Paul, who suffered two near-death experiences before he passed away, had been incredibly candid about the ups and downs of his career. Months before his death, Paul discussed how he ended up working in a phone shop after the offers dried up. Speaking to the MailOnline in November, he said: "It’s very tough. I mean, maybe years ago I shouldn't have left Hollyoaks, but I made that decision because after four years, I didn't want be typecast and back then, everyone didn't want to be the next Ken Barlow. You wanted to go off and play different roles, especially when you're a real actor.".
