A pub in Glasgow had a surprise appearance from a famous singer taking part in karaoke. The iconic 1990s musician stunned locals in the boozer when he erupted into an impromptu version of his famous song. Regulars at the Horse Shoe Bar in Glasgow city centre were thrilled by the performance and even joined it. It was a night to remember for those present and the unexpected gig was shared on social media.
The singer had been out in the Scottish city with his mates following a scheduled performance. A fan in the small crowd at the pub shared the moment online after being surprised by what unfolded. They wrote: "When in the Horseshoe Bar after 9pm... and they put your song on...".
Travis frontman Fran Healy stood in front of the pubgoers as he belted out their huge hit 'Why Does It Always Rain on Me?'. Fans cheekily commented about the performance as one said: "I've heard better versions in there!! Only joking - thanks for lighting up people's Christmas week." Band Travis humorously responded: "I have too hahahaha.".
The singer received numerous compliments for being a "top man," and many declared it one of the greatest evenings in the Horse Shoe's history. A patron shared: "What a pleasure, Fran. A definite highlight of my 30+ years as Horse Shoe compere. Thanks so much for being a top man. Hope you and the guys have an amazing gig tonight.".
Another added: "Well done mate - you didn't even have to look at the words once." Travis have been on a UK tour and played at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow over the weekend. Earlier this year, Fran revealed he managed to break through Liam Gallagher's tough exterior and made him cry.
