Revealed: Yankees beat the Dodgers to blockbuster MLB trade days after losing Juan Soto to the Mets

MLB star Devin Williams has revealed that he expected to be traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers before his switch to the New York Yankees was finalized. Williams said he was 'hearing' that the Dodgers were positioning themselves to be his new team before the Yankees 'snuck' in to bring him to the East Coast instead.
The two teams who competed in this year's World Series have made several attempts already this offseason to be back in the fall classic next year. New York's chances of getting back to the World Series have taken a severe hit this month, as the team lost Juan Soto to the crosstown Mets on a 15-year, $765million deal, the richest in sports history.
Now with the Yankees free to spend massive amounts of money on multiple players, bringing Williams, a two-time All-Star into the fold, is New York's first big move in a post-Soto world. Williams' deal from the Brewers to the Yankees was first announced last Friday, with Nestor Cortes Jr. and Caleb Durbin heading back to Milwaukee for the relief pitcher.
