Ferdinand was speaking on his podcast and shared the clip on Instagram, which prompted Carragher to hit back with: "I didn't say that you clown, stop playing to the gallery like you always do.".
Separate from the AFCON debate, Carragher was also quoted by German publication BILD by claiming there could be doubts over Vincent Kompany's appointment at Bayern and the expectations at the club.
Becker responded by dismissing Carragher's opinion, adding: "There haven’t been any questions regarding the appointment of Kompany ... Jamie is NOT well informed at all.".
Carragher's controversial comments over the Africa Cup of Nations, in which he played the tournament was not considered "major" in terms of helping a player, such as Mohamed Salah, win the Ballon d'Or.
Ferdinand branded the comments as "ignorant", adding: "If you go to Didier Drogba, [Samuel] Eto'o, [Riyad] Mahrez, Salah now, they'll say, 'we have to win this'.
