Roberto Carlos has denied reports that he is sleeping at Real Madrid's training ground after divorcing his wife, branding them 'baseless rumours'. The Madrid legend, 51, tied the knot with Mariana Lucon in June 2009, and the couple have two daughters together - Manuela and Mariana. But they have now gone their separate ways, as reported by Estadio Deportivo.
According to the Spanish outlet, the divorce settlement is expected to be a complicated one due to Carlos' eye-watering fortune, which is valued at around €160m (£133m). Lucon is reportedly continuing to live at their main residence, while Carlos' in-laws are currently in his second property, with Estadio Deportivo claiming that the ex-Brazil full back is thus temporarily living at Madrid's training centre in Valdebebas.
However, he has now hit back at the reports in a heartfelt post on X. 'In recent days, I have become aware of false and damaging stories circulating about me and my family. While I value privacy, I feel compelled to address the baseless rumours about my living situation. These fabricated stories are entirely false and seem designated to generate clicks.
