A MAJOR supermarket is selling the iconic Cadbury chocolate tin - and it’s now only £5 for loyalty card customers. Shoppers are rushing to buy the Cadbury Mixed Chunks Tin at Sainsbury’s, saying they “need” to get their hands on the festive favourite.
The 380g tin usually costs £7.50, but those with a Nectar card can get it for just £5. The selection tin, which is advertised as “for someone special”, includes individually wrapped chunks of classic Dairy Milk as well as the whole nut and caramel versions.
Some readers may remember that Cadbury used to sell selection boxes in tins rather than in the plastic tubs usually seen on supermarket shelves now. One Facebook user on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group said: “I can remember when they first went on sale, they were a tenner.”.
Another commented: “I need some of these.”. Supermarket shoppers who have already managed to stock up on the retro tins say they make for a great stocking filler - if you can resist opening them before Christmas. One reviewer on the Sainsbury’s website wrote: “Just saw it on offer in Sainsbury's recently, & knowing my husband loves Cadbury chocs, I thought it would be good to keep for Christmas.
“Unfortunately it hasn’t lasted that long, as once it was opened, we couldn’t resist the individually wrapped surprise parcels! As usual lovely chocolate & yummy centres to choose from. Also…super tin to keep for biscuits. Great job Cadbury.”.
