Samantha Armytage has revealed how she will be spending the Christmas holidays as a newly single lady. The new Today Show stand-in host, 48, will be keeping things relaxed and casual as she goes through a divorce with husband Richard Lavender, she told the Daily Telegraph on Saturday.

'My favourite Christmas tradition is to have a swim in the ocean first thing Christmas Day' the 48-year-old said. Sam explained that she would be spending the holidays with family and having a little bubbly. The TV star said she will, 'open a good bottle of champagne and pour a glass for all the family, then start the unwrapping'.

She flashed a huge smile as she bought a box of French champagne Louis Auger, which retails from $46.99 per bottle, ahead of the festive season. The former Channel Seven star appeared to be in excellent form as she beamed from ear to ear. It will mark her first Christmas since her separation from equestrian businessman Richard, 61, on the eve of their fourth wedding anniversary.
